1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on the Heritance Heir Portal at tryheritance.com, or by accessing or using any part of the service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, that you have read and understood these Terms of Service, and that you agree to be bound by them.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Heritance Inc. ("Heritance", "we", "us", or "our"). If you are accessing the service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
2. Description of Service
The Heritance Heir Portal is a private, invitation-only digital platform designed to facilitate communication and financial planning between wealth management clients, their beneficiaries (heirs), and their designated Heritance advisors. The service includes, but is not limited to:
- Secure messaging between heirs and advisors
- Access to estate and portfolio documentation shared by advisors
- Illustrative wealth simulation and projection tools
- Investment preference capture and storage
- Financial education resources and guides
- Family briefing scheduling and RSVP management
- Goal-setting and financial planning tools
The Heritance platform is an informational and communication tool. It does not constitute the provision of financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or tax advice. All content provided through the platform — including wealth projections, educational articles, and guides — is illustrative only.
3. User Accounts
Access to the Heritance Heir Portal is granted by invitation only, issued by your designated Heritance advisor. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to notify us immediately at support@tryheritance.com if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. Heritance will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
You may not share your account credentials with any third party, create accounts on behalf of others, or use the service for any purpose other than your own personal use as a designated heir beneficiary.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Heritance platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the service in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Transmit any material that is defamatory, offensive, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service
- Use any automated system, robot, or scraper to access the service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any software component of the service
- Use the service to transmit unsolicited communications or spam
Heritance reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to any user who violates these acceptable use provisions, without notice and at our sole discretion.
5. Intellectual Property
The Heritance Heir Portal and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Heritance Inc. and its licensors. The service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United Kingdom and foreign countries.
Documents and reports shared by your advisor through the platform remain the intellectual property of Heritance Wealth Management or its constituent advisors, as applicable. You may not reproduce, distribute, or publicly display such materials without express written permission.
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the service may be used by Heritance without obligation, compensation, or attribution to you.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Heritance Heir Portal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Heritance disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Heritance does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. Wealth projections and simulation outputs are illustrative only and are not a guarantee or prediction of future investment performance. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. All investments carry risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Heritance Inc. and its directors, employees, partners, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of the service or your reliance on any information provided through it.
In no event shall Heritance's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these terms or the service exceed the amount you have paid to Heritance in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
8. Changes to Terms
Heritance reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms of Service at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the service.
